W.A.T.E.R- We Are The Ecology Readers!

The main theme of the Project is “ Water Literacy”. Water is an integral part of Earth’s structure and plays a unique role in Earth’s processes. It is found in the atmosphere, on the surface, and underground. The water cycle is central to life on Earth and connects Earth systems. Life processes, from the level of the cell to that of the ecosystem, depend on water. Both the quantity and quality of water contribute to the sustainability of life on Earth. Water has become a contemporary topic that is often considered due to   the increasing environmental problems in recent years. Because it is of great importance to conscioususe of existing resources, to make water conservation, to prevent water pollution, to recognize the importance of water for the continuation of clean water that we   can inherit from future generations.

AIMS OF THE PROJECT

To raise the students’ awareness for the water literacy    

To create alternative solutions based on individual or collaborative support with the help of creative and analytical thinking skills, feeling themselves responsible for solving problems related to social problems

To educate individuals with scientific literacy who understand the relationship between change and transformation with science and the natural environment

To share this experience with partner schools and encourage our pupils to protect our environment.

To establish strong relationships between collegues and schools across Europe

To support the professional competencies development of the teachers

To raise the students and teachers' awareness for eSafety and internet etchics

WORK PROCESS

The project process will start in January 2021 and it will be completed by the end of May 2021. Detailed work process will be decided with the project partners and added to the twinspace section. Task sharing will be made among the project partners. Project works will be shared regularly on twinspace and project blog page. During the project, collabiration, sharing ideas, learning from each other are essential. All the studies will be carried out considering eSafety and ınternet etchics. Web 2 tools and technolgy will be used in all project process. Evaluation and dissemination will be made at the end of the project.

Improving empathy for water sensitivity

Reaching out some solutions about how to coserve water

To recognize the importance of water and improve the awareness

DIARY- ONE DAY WITH WATER

 Since we would like to create awareness about saving water usage, we asked our students to write a diary of their one day with water. They were supposed to write how much water they use, for what purpose they consume and the amount of water they use etc. They could use diagrams or pictures to show their results. Web 2.0 tool " Genially" was used by students to present their diary about one day with water. Here are a couple of examples that our ppupils made.

E-Safety Day on E-Twinning: 9th of February

   At the beginning days of  our project-we named as “Water: We Are the Ecology Readers”-,our students learn about the “E-Safety Day” and how it is important to stay safe while using the internet or other media. E-Safety day is celebrated on 9th of February on etwinning. As our students are all under 18, we-the teachers should protect them from all threats. So on the e-safety day, we came together online( online is a must in pandemic conditions) and talk about what they should do to protect themselves from unknown areas or inappropriate websites or platforms for their age and what kind of harm they can experience from those. We talked about some basic rules and support these rules with some photos like; We talked about that if they learn some basic rules on that they should keep in mind while searching for information for their homework or even uploading a photo of themselves with their close friends, they would behave according to the rules and from then on they protect themselves fr
