WATER - We Are The Ecology Readers!

  WORLD WATER DAY Water is an integral part of Earth's structure and life processes depend on it. As we all know its importance,  World Water Day is   held on 22 March every year since 1993, focuses on the importance of freshwater.  It also reminds us how valuable it is for our lives.   We prepared an acristic poem in advance as a collaborative work. W e held webinar for World Water Day on 22 March 2021 with our students.   Presentation about the day, quizzes and  puzzles were prepared by ITHS students.

What is Water Footprint? Water Footprint refers to the volume of water used to produce various products and services. Why Water Footprint Is Important? Measuring water footprint and taking all the necessary steps to keep that level as low as possible is extremely important for mankind. This balance is urgently required because freshwater is vital to our daily life while the supply of freshwater is limited. As the world population expands, so does the need for fresh water. Measures to keep water footprint level low, soon are needed to conserve fresh water supply.    On March, we give some basic information about "What is Water Footprint?" to our students and then we had them to calculate their own water footprints to see the big picture more clearly bu using this site  https://waterfootprint.org/en/resources/interactive-tools/personal-water-footprint-calculator/personal-calculator-extended/ .    At the beginning days of  our project-we named as “Water: We Are the Ecology Readers”-,our students learn about the “E-Safety Day” and how it is important to stay safe while using the internet or other media. E-Safety day is celebrated on 9th of February on etwinning. As our students are all under 18, we-the teachers should protect them from all threats. So on the e-safety day, we came together online( online is a must in pandemic conditions) and talk about what they should do to protect themselves from unknown areas or inappropriate websites or platforms for their age and what kind of harm they can experience from those. We talked about some basic rules and support these rules with some photos like; We talked about that if they learn some basic rules on that they should keep in mind while searching for information for their homework or even uploading a photo of themselves with their close friends, they would behave according to the rules and from then on they protect themselves fr
